WPAOG Parent Handbook 2022-23

12 WEST POINT ASSOCIATION OF GRADUATES WELCOME On behalf of the West Point Association of Graduates, I welcome you and your cadet to West Point. I’m very pleased to provide you with the 2022–2023 Parent Handbook, which we hope you will find a useful tool to better understand USMA and your cadet’s 47-month experience at the Academy. WPAOG is the Academy’s alumni association and foundation. We provide programs to enhance the cadet years at West Point and an expansive range of services to graduates. I encourage you to take advantage of what WPAOG’s team in Herbert Alumni Center offers, including monthly Parent Review e-newsletters, complimentary issues of West Point magazine (quarterly), and WPAOG-hosted events. WPAOG also raises funds for the Academy. Donations to the Margin of Excellence and the West Point Parents Fund have impacted every cadet at West Point by supporting academic conferences, capstone projects, semesters abroad, cadet internships and cultural immersion trips, competitive academic teams, graduate scholarships, co-curricular teams and clubs, and Staff Rides. Because of donor support over the past 20 years, WPAOG has delivered over 50 completed gift-funded buildings valued at over $250 million. These facilities and programs would not have been possible without private support. Our Parent Giving Officer, Shelisa Baskerville, is a valuable resource for families throughout your time at West Point. I also encourage you to use WPAOG’s Parent Portal on our website to stay informed: WestPointAOG.org/ParentResources. We at WPAOG look forward to getting to know you and connecting the Corps of Cadets with the generations of heroes that preceded them. Serving West Point and the Long Gray Line, Todd A. Browne ’85 President and CEO, WPAOG
