WestPointAOG.org | 800.BE A.GRAD 35 Optometry The optometry clinic (Building 606) provides routine eye exams and care, to include providing prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses. Eyeglasses are provided free of charge, but contact lenses must be paid for out of pocket. Corrective Eye Surgery The ophthalmology clinic at Keller Army Community Hospital is home to the Cadet Refractive Eye Surgery Program. This programprovides eligible candidates with laser vision correction through LASIK and PRK procedures. In order to be considered for the procedure, cadets must be 21 years of age and be in their Second Class (Cow) year. Behavioral Health Behavioral health services are available for cadets at two locations: (1) Building 606, Floor 3M, and (2) the Center for Personal Development (CPD) located inWashington Hall, Room 6306. Behavioral Health provides psychiatric, clinical psychology, and social work services, as appropriate, tomaintain the mental health of the cadet population. Services include individual psychotherapy; psychiatric medicationmanagement; psychiatric assessment; consultation tomedical staff; psychological testing; relaxation and biofeedback therapy; and crisis intervention. A behavioral health professional also supports the emergency department 24/7 for crisis situations. More information on CPD can be found on page 53 of this handbook. Substance Use Disorder Clinic The Keller Army Community Hospital’s Substance Use Disorder Clinic Care (SUDCC) is open to cadets that are interested in seeking help independently. The clinic provides substance use disorder clinical care, including assessment, education, treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare, for cadets within an integratedmedical and behavioral healthmodel to enhance health and readiness. It is preferred to have individuals seek education and treatment on their own, in hopes to prevent them frompossibly experiencing an alcohol or drug related incident. Seeking education and treatment independently does not require command involvement or an official enrollment into the program. Services are also offered for nicotine, tobacco and vaping products. The SUDCC is located in building 656 and you can schedule an appointment by walking in Monday to Friday, 0800-1630, or calling 845.938.7691. Keller Army Community Hospital Keller Army Community Hospital provides high quality, patient-centered care with a focus on health and wellness to improve readiness of the force and enhance the lives of all beneficiaries. The hospital provides cadets access to a 24/7 Emergency Room as well as numerous medical and surgical specialties including orthopedics, podiatry, dermatology, ENT, general surgery, oral surgery, OB-GYN and physical therapy. Cadets can call the Central Guard Room (CGR) at 845.938.3030 in order to receive transportation to the hospital for medical care. Cadets who require inpatient treatment for medical or surgical needs while at West Point will be cared for in the medical-surgical unit. Family
