40 YEARLING YEAR Cadet Field Training—CFT Military Leadership 200 (ML200) — Introduction toWarfighting Laboratory is a three-to-four-week programof instruction for Third Class cadets (Yearlings). ML200 is offered during the summer term as part of Cadet Field Training (CFT I and CFT II). ML200 expands on the knowledge gained in the classroomby providing hands on application of concepts and lessons fromMS100 in a tactical field environment. Cadets perform select Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC-A) tasks in order to further develop the military and tactical knowledge necessary for future field training and lays the foundation for subsequent Military Science courses. The purpose of ML200 is to develop, train, test, and validate specific BOLC-A tasks. It prepares Third Class cadets to assume duties as noncommissioned officers in the Corps of Cadets; instills the warrior ethos in each cadet; and inspires each cadet to professional excellence through physically- and mentally-demanding training. This course reinforces the importance of character, integrity, courage, and grit, instills the Warrior Ethos, and inspires professional excellence through physically andmentally demanding training. CFT concludes with a marchback to the West Point Garrison. As Third-Class cadets, their role is to exemplify professional standards of behavior and values, assist teammembers, demonstrate commitment to duty through performance, and support the policies of the Chain of Command. They strive for excellence in the military, character, physical, and academic programs while practicing habits of honorable living.
