WPAOG Parent Handbook 2019-20

WestPointAOG.org | 800.BE A.GRAD 13 Welcome to the West Point Family! As the Parent Giving Officer at WPAOG, I collaborate with the Academy and work closely with cadets, parents, and Parents Clubs to let them know the many ways in whichWPAOG supports current cadets and their families and to help facilitate their involvement in our various initiatives and programs. Keeping you informed is one of our key priorities at WPAOG, and we have many ways we make you aware of what is happening at the Academy and in the lives of our cadets and alumni. This Parent Handbook is a great resource to help you better understand the Academy and to plan for the upcoming year. WPAOG’s website has a parent portal (WestPointAOG.org/ParentResources) with information about Academy events and the nearly 80 West Point Parents Clubs. In addition to proudly serving as the alumni association, WPAOG also serves as the outside fundraising organization in support of the Academy. One of the ways we support current cadets is by raising private funds to support Margin of Excellence programs that offer valuable experiences to our cadets beyond the classroom and often beyond the walls of West Point. The West Point Parents Fund allows parents of our cadets to support these valuable experiences and helpmake West Point a top college and the world’s premier leadership development institution. Margin of Excellence programs benefit every cadet in three main areas: Cadet Activities, Academics, and Athletics. Please remember to fill out our data form so that I can better serve you throughout your family’s West Point experience and beyond. I amhere to answer your questions, support your Parents Club activities, and through the West Point Parents Fund, help enhance your cadet’s experience at the Academy. You can contact me directly at 845.446.1535 or at parentrelations@wpaog.org . I look forward tomeeting you and working with you throughout the coming years!
